About the ARTF
Founded in 2004, the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation (ARTF) is a university-affiliated,
non-profit [501(c)3] corporation formed to support the mission of Auburn University,
particularly research and economic development. The ARTF is governed by a board
of directors consisting of business and economic development professionals, an Auburn
University trustee and vice president for research, City of Auburn mayor, university
deans, and a venture capitalist.
Formed initially to develop and operate the Auburn Research Park, the scope
of the ARTF has expanded to asset management and business development. Over time,
the ARTF will develop a contract research capability.
The ARTF has established and is implementing a fully operational infrastructure
model for linking the research enterprise of Auburn University, and the local entrepreneurial
community, to technology-based economic development. This infrastructure consists
of the university research enterprise and technology transfer functions linked to
the Auburn Business Incubator and Auburn Research Park of the ARTF along with the
business development focus.
